1/ Where are you runnig the command from ? Eg, Master server , media server ?
2/ What type of Storage unit is defined in the policy ?
The Accelerator feature will only work with certain types of STU.
PureDIsk
Cloud Storage
OST vendor qualified (see NBU hardware comapatibilty list)
So, for exa, ple, if you try to configure Accelerator on a policy using 'Tape storage' you will get the error you see.
Thanks,
Martin

I ran the command on master server, with OST type STU vendor.

OK, no this is the only command (unless you use the GUI)
What is this "OST type STU vendor."
Please be exact is the type of Storage unit :
Eg, OST Datadomain / OST amaazon cloud etc ...
I need to know the exact make and model of the storage

As far as I am aware NONE of the OST hardware solutions are supported at this point in time.
This can be confirmed in HCL: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76495

Cloud does, and I guess this comes under an OST ...
So OST Amazon for example is supported.

I believe Marianne is correct, cloud is the only OST STU supported at this time, though it is to be expanded in the future.

Ahh yes, I see now - OST 'HARDWARE' ...
I am a bit blind today ...

Im using NEC's Hydrastor, n I think accelaretor is supported in it.

It's supported as an OST Storage but I see no evidence it's supported for accelerator.
The hardware compatibility guide states it is supported for Optimized duplications,

NO - not supported according to the HW guide.
That is the reason for the message.
