NDMP backup falure 99 see status

I am getting this error on a volume that has 2 1k files in it. I have tried a diff and full and still get the same error. There are no command switches or anything. This is a straight forward, simple ndmp backup.

ndmp_data_start_backup failed, status = 9 (NDMP_ILLEGAL_ARGS_ERR)

What revision of NBU are you using?  Have you checked the NDMP log on your NAS device?  All of the 99 errors that we've experienced were NAS problems.

List Attributes

set_ndmp_attr -list

Verify access

set_ndmp_attr -verify <NDMP server>

Check deamons are up

vmps

Authenticate Access

set_ndmp_attr -auth filer root
