client actually is your other NetApp filer?

Have seen this happen when trying to restore an NDMP backup to a Windows client.

***EDIT***

Also come across the following T/N which states:

"This issue occurs when we don't have sufficient space on the volume on which we are trying to restore the file"

single file re-directed restore for ndmp server fails with error status 5

Hi Andy thanks for the responce. Here client is netapp filer and destination where we are tying to restore the data that is also a netapp filer. On the destination filer we have 1TB free space. Even I tried to restore only a single file instad of the directory, that is also failing immediately with out reading the media.

"ndmp_net_get_host_entry failed "

No typos in destination client?

NDMP service running on destination filer?

nbemmcmd -listhosts shows destination client?

nbemmcmd -verify ndmp_client (I presume you checked this already)

Yes nbemmcmd -listhosts shows the destination client. Every thing as per my knowledge seems to be ok. sad
