NDMP to Sun L1400 HP LTO4

I have a customer that is trying to do NDMP backups to Sun L1400 with HP LTO4 drives and he keeps getting an error. If he replaces it with an IBM LTO4 drive the NDMP backup works fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the difference would be?

Check with vendor if the current firmware version on HP drive has any known issue with NDMP.
