Need to take backup of mountpoint having millions of files..

Hello Marianne/ All

Started the new one.

Client is a local zone , its a linux client having 7.1 nbu version.

Master server having 7.1.0.4 nbu version

 

Need to take backup of one mount point having millions of files, client is a local zone. Please advice how to take backup of this mount point..

Linux or Solaris?
Your other post looks like it may be a Solaris zone?

We also know from your other post that FlashBackup is not supported on local zones and that upgrading to 7.5 with MSDP to use Accellerator is not an option.

The only other solution that I can think of is Multiple Data Streams.

First thing you need to do is find out what the folder/file structure is on this mount point.

Are there sub-directories in this mount point?
Or all files simply in the root directory of the mount point?
