Hello,
I am trying to backup an MS-SQL 2000 database that is behind a firewall.
I have configured the bpcd connect back to be VNETD only and I believe that the VNETD port 13724 is open on the firewall.
I can successfully backup any files and folders on the database server no problem, but I cannot backup the MS-SQL databases using the MS-SQL agent. I had a look in the dbclient log and I see the following:
[21412.21416] <2> vnet_async_connect: ..\libvlibs\vnet_vnetd.c.3971: connect in progress: 1 0x00000001
[21412.21416] <2> vnet_async_connect: ..\libvlibs\vnet_vnetd.c.4163: getsockopt SO_ERROR returned: 10060 0x0000274c
[21412.21416] <2> vnet_connect_to_service_or_vnetd: ..\libvlibs\vnet_vnetd.c.3521: vnet_async_connect failed: 18 0x00000012
[21412.21416] <2> nb_connect_to_vnetd_or_legacy: ..\..\nb\lib\comm.c.1971: vnet_connect_to_vnetd_or_service failed: 18
[21412.21416] <2> bprd_connect: Cannot connect to server <removed> automatically: 25
Any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks,
Richard.

Under the Netbackup Security and Encryption guide you will get all what you need, just go to the port security chapter.
