Hey all,
I am planning to upgrade net backup 6.5 (32-bit OS master server) to 7.0.1 (32-bit OS master server). I have read in few forums that 7.0 is supported only in 64-bit master servers. Is it true or can i go ahead with installing netbackup 7.0 on the same master server which is 32-bit? Thanks in advance!!

PLEASE have a look at the NBU 7.x OS compatibility list - all links in the URL that I've posted above.

You forgot to mention your OS! 32-bit Windows master servers are still supported on 7.x. No Linux/Unix 32-bit masters are supported. You will not be able to upgrade.
Please have a look at the Compatibility Guide: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH59978

Thank you so much Marianne, just one more help. Could you please also let me know the proper procedure for upgrading from 6.5 to 7.0? How do i get the same configuration and catalog settings after upgrading?

That is exactly what happens during an upgrade - all configuration, catalogs and history is preserved.
Preparation is the key to a successful upgrade. Start with the Upgrade Portal - go through each and every link.
Next stop is the Installation Guide. You will find an Upgrade section there.
