Has anyone had any experience in using the Veritas Netbackup DB2 agent on a database running DB2s HADR option?
We are attempting to set up a DR site to protect a DB2 installation ( Version 9.1 ) running in a Solaris 10 zone on a Sun E6900 server. The DR site hardware comprises Sun V440 servers onto which DB2 is installed also in a Solaris 10 zone. The DB2 database on the production E6900 server uses the DB2 HADR option to update the DR site DB2 database which should then operate as a warm site.
From what I can determine in relation to DB2 and HADR, if the DR site has a NetBackup agent installed in the zone running the DB2 database, the agent may not be able to control the database and perform backups. Backups can be performed on the production site database using the NetBackup DB2 agent but under HADR the DR site can not be controlled by the onsite NetBackup DB2 agent.
Does anyone have any experience with the combination of these products to state whether the above is correct?
