Ia anyone able to tell me if NetBackup supports the use of the SCSI Extended Copy command to enable "serverless" backups? There was a serverless agent included in NetBackup 4.0V but I am not sure if this is still around.
Essentially what I want to do is backup my databases overnight to disk and then vault them to tape the following day during the day time. To avoid impact to the production server, I would like the Vault job to use the SCSI Extended Copy command to copy the data from disk direct to tape without going into the HBA/Server. Both disk and tape are connected to the same HBA/SAN switch.
