Hello,
we are deploying NetBackup for our Solaris 10 based servers. Each server has several zones with
Oracle inside (one Oracle per zone). Each Oracle is on a few filesystems. The NBU agent is snapshot agent - not Oracle agent.
The whole structure is similar to the following diagram:
[ server 1 ]
- zone 1
- Oracle 1
- binaries
- database files
- archive logs
- redo
- zone 2
- Oracle 2
- binaries
- database files
- archive logs
- redo
- zone 3
- Oracle 3
- binaries
- database files
- archive logs
- redo
...
- zone x
- Oracle x
- binaries
- database files
- archive logs
- redo
[ server 2 ]
...
Our goal is to:
- save ability to backup each Oracle on different (usually night) time
- backup binaries and archive logs once a few days
In general we would like to treat each Oracle as separate entity.
Could you please suggest the best approach for NBU policies ? I thought of creating policy for
each zone but I am not sure if this is right approach.
