Dear All,
I have a problem...
When a Netbackup GUI opens-(jnbSA &),I can only view the details of ONLY one item (say Activity Monitor) and If I click on the other item (Say Host Properties) the GUI feezes.The only option I have is to kill the prossess and restart the GUI all over whenever I want to check the details of another item on the left pane.
We are running the below on a SunOS 5.10 sun4u server with NetBackup 6.0:
# pkgparam VRTSnetbp VERSION
6.0,REV=2006.11.09.18.12
# java -version
java version "1.5.0_14"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_14-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.5.0_14-b03, mixed mode)
Below is the master nbj.conf file
# $Revision: 1.6 $
#***************************************************************************
#* $VRTScprght: Copyright 1993 - 2006 Symantec Corporation, All Rights Reserved $ *

MEM_USE_WARNING=80
FORCE_IPADDR_LOOKUP=0

"/usr/openv/java/nbj.conf" 16 lines, 480 characters
Does anyone have any suggestions and thanks in advance for the advice!

Deepak, those links are patch downloads - not the install files.
Freddy, if you have the original install cd/dvd set, you will find it on the Windows install media.
Otherwise you can download the Windows install files from https://fileconnect.symantec.com/ . You will need your product serial number on your NBU 6 License Key certificate.

Not enough memory for Java GUI?
There is a performance TECHNOTE for the Java GUI on 6.0>6.5 if this helps

Are you logging on as root or another user?
Check contents of auth.conf.
Please also confirm NBU patch level on master server:
cat /usr/openv/netbackup/version
as well as NBU Java patch level:
grep JAV /usr/openv/pack/pack.summary
Suggestion: Try to load the Windows Java Console (on your Windows install media) on your desktop. I've been doing this for the last 3-4 versions.

I am using window desktop with Java ver:1.4.2_06 installed.
I can communicate with all the clients defined on the Hosts properties (ping command)
Any more idea?
Thanks,
Freddy

I was actually referring to NetBackup Windows Java Console that you can install from the NetBackup Windows install media. You then run the Java Console from your desktop - not jnbSA on the master server.

I am trying to locate the Netbackup Windows Java admin console SW so I can install as per your advice.I will let you know the progress.
Thanks again..

Still try to locate the DVD-I am new here that why.
But once I got the DVD I will install and let you know the progress.
@Stuart
Please find the logs I have collected as advice (TECH51140)
Have a look and see if you can locate/pin the problem.
Thank you all,
Happy new (2011)

Hello Marianne and the Team...
Happy new year.
I wanna thank you all for your posts and let you know that I managed to install the Windows Java Console on one of the window machine and I can run the NBU 6 GUI from there.
Thanks to all
