I am looking for a script or solution that will allow weekly backup status reports to be generated and saved as individual reports. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would help to know what operating system / scripting language you're planning on using.

You could use NOM (netbackup Operation manager)....

Windows 2K3 Server Enterprise. I am creaing .cmd & .bch files. I am using:

bpdbjobs -clean -keep_days 2
bpdbjobs -summary -file c:\DailystatsFS.txt

This gives me a summary of daily backups. I would like a summary of each policy. I am also open to any ideas that may streamline this process.

Where is NOM? I am fairly new to NBU, and I have not heard of NOM.

You could use bperror too

for example:

bperror -backstat -U -d 09/23/2008 -e 09/23/2008

Then you could import this output into a excel spreadsheet or something and sort it by policy ...

"NOM is an advanced, easy-to-use Web based application used for managing
and monitoring NetBackup master and media servers, clients, and policies.
NOM console can be used to monitor world-wide NetBackup sites in
real-time on a 24-hour basis. NOM is included with NetBackup server
products for no additional cost."

This is the manual:

ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/NetBackup_Enterprise_Server/285150.pdf

The software is in the installation cd.

P.S.

Council not to use VxSS!
