NetBackup Installation Guide for UNIX and Linux

hi all ,

 I have the following environment.

A netbackup 6.0 MP4 master server with Solaris 9 OS and it controlling a couple of tape libraries also I have a couple of Media servers and a lot of clients.

Any way we had a problem with Master server (and it went down for some hardware reasons) so the management  want another stand by server in case of the master goes down the send one can work.

 

I have prepared another server I installed the same OS Solaris 9 and same netbackup version.

 

Now what I need to know is does the hostname and IP address  for bother servers must be the same.

And if yes can I change the stand by server hostname after I installed the netbackup?

How can I move the netbackup catalog to the new server?

 

Also the new server has deferent device paths to the tap libraries.

Any help is really appreciated....

I think your best bet would be have the standby server offline until needed.  Once the primary master server goes down, run through the disaster recovery steps listed from page 533 of the Troubleshooting Guide (http://support.veritas.com/docs/279295)
