Migrating from server-based Netbackup 8.2 to Flex 5250

Hi,

I am totally new in Veritas environment. Never had an actual implementation before.

However I have been given a task to migrate a customer server based Netbackup 8.2 to a new Flex 5250.

I only know the basics on setting up the Flex node, configuring the Primary and Media server instances, and configuring backup policies.

Can someone help to point me to the right method or documentation for me to accomplish this task?

Unfortunately, there is no straight method to recover NetBackup 8.2 to a flex instance (i assumed your existing server runs on windows os).

In such cases, you will need Veritas help to migrate it using specialised tools (CATMAN).

There is a new Veritas tool called NbServerMigrator tool that can migrate the primary server you can check it out.
