Hi Experts,

I have a Netbackup 7 version running on Linux, and had two tape drives. I have problem with Duplication job i can see only one duplication job running and the staging gets full soon.

I check the tape drives using ./vmoprcmd -d and i can see the drives as active or Control is TLD. and they have Active does this mean they both are up? and having no issues?

Please post Storage Unit config:

bpstulist -L

Here is the output, I believe they both are Up and running. For some reason its only writing to one tape. Do you think this is because of the large NDMP backups its more then 1TB.

[root@ibackup admincmd]# ./bpstulist -L

Thanks Marlanne, nice info but had few more question on these.

The suggestions in the doc says to split the jobs into multiple small files to not exceed 25 GIG. But if you are taking backups using the NDMP can u do the same because i am using set SNAPSURE =y because i have more then 500GIG to 1TB drives in some NDMP backups.

The TN describes the way that NBU automatically groups images for disk staging.

The way I understand this is that NBU will group the images if it is smaller than 25 GB. So, a single backup job larger than 25 GB will be treated as a single job during duplication running to one tape drive.
