I'm working to rollout Netbackup 7 to our Microsot SQL Server environmnet. As with any new deployment we are learning the system and it's nuances as we go. In an effor to make troubleshooting eaiser for Database & Backup adminsitrators I am looking for a compreshensive list of all the netbackup 7 error codes. Having to track down information on what each code means is quickley becoming a time consuming process and I believe that if we had a list of error codes (and thier general meaning) we could identify and fix issues much faster.
Does anyone know of such a list and or where it may be? I've tried looking around for one but I havent had much luck.
Thanks in advance for any help,
MSSQL_DBA.

I am not sure that NBU error code will help you to fast resolution, b'coz there are more than 900 codes.
however NBU error code will only 60% helpful at the time of actual troubleshooting.
by NBU error code will show the troubleshoot direction & not solution

Yogesh9881 & wrobbins,
Thanks for the comments. The Netbackup Troubleshooting guide is just was I was looking for. Also the code lookup in the NBU GUI is nice too. I know that the codes coming out this system are not always helpful, but at least we have a better starting point than doing random Internet searches when my Netbackup Admin is unavailable.
Thanks again for the help, it was much appreciated.

Brings up BAR GUI if using Windows Admin Console & Troubleshooter if using Java Console.
Running 6.5.6, so has it changed? (I'll still click on the icon anyway!)

troubleshooting guide, you could also try using the bperror command which brings up the same sort of output as the GUI troubleshooter
e.g.
# bperror -S 13 file read failed A read of a file or socket failed. The possible causes include as follows: * A network communication problem has occurred on the master server, media server, or one of the clients. * An I/O error that occurred during a read from the file system. * Read of an incomplete file or a corrupt file. * A socket read failure that is caused by a network problem or a problem with the process that writes to the socket. * A problem specific to NetBackup Snapshot Client (see recommended actions). * The first EV-SQL backup after a NetBackup installation failed. See the Troubleshooting section of the NetBackup for Enterprise Vault Agent Administrator's Guide.

I believe they are moving away from having all the error code stuff out of the Troubleshooting Guide, spinning it off into this new guide.
It also includes our other codes (Media Manager, Device configuration, &c.)
