Netbackup Notification Service - Missing?

Hello there!

I upgraded our NetBackup solution from 6.0 to 6.5 the other day. Backups have been working well, if not better than before and the upgrade seemed to be a sucess. One thing I have noticed through a breif scan of my monitoring software is that a service named:

netbackup notification service

Is missing. So I start looking in services.msc, and confirm that this service has just plain gone. Completly gone. Now, on the face of it, backups are still working so I'm guessing that this is part of the upgrade and that NB6.5 doesn't use this service. But I'd like to check with you people that I'm right and that there's not something more sinister going on...

Hi,

      I just check on the NBU 6.5 Release Notes and doesnt mention anything about removing this service, one question will be, did you boot the box after the upgrade? some services are removed in windows and only after a boot the install finish up and reinstall them, but not sure if this is the case.
