Hi

Since our backup guy left I have to take over what he did. So i am in the deep end and really need help.

We have existing policies and everything set up but the backups are taking extroadinarily long amount of time to complete and when they do they fail.

The two main errors that i can see are

WRN- Removeable storage management: Unable to export database (win32 1058: Unknown Error) and

Write failed with device not connected (1167) written ; 65536: size 0

Also on the backups logs it says request terminiated by administrator

We are running VNBU 5.0 on W2K3 servers with a MSL6000 tape library. if there is any more info you need just ask

Thanks very much in advance

In Windows 2000, RSM (Removable Storage Manager) often conflicts with NetBackup

device management and it is recommended to be disabled.

Follow this link to the pdf file containg the information to disable RSM:
