New Backup Server Recommendations

Hey  Fellas, I am getting ready to build out a hefty backup solution and I know what I want but wanted to get some objective opinions.

I have a Sun S3000 with 16 LTO 4 tape drives all 4GB  san attached and I have about 300TB that I need to get backed up. The majority of this data is on NetApp filers that are backed up via NDMP over the san.

What would you guys do as far as a server goes (don't even mention winodws boxes!)  

Hardware / Ram / CPU / OS / Balde Server ?

What do you you guys think?

Just bought my new master server;

Sun T5220, 8core 1.4GHz, 32GB RAM, Solaris 10

2 - 10Gb Ethernet cards

2 - dual port 4Gb PCIe hba's

attached to a Sun L700 with 8 LTO4 drives and 12 media server all over the country, backin' up 400 clients with about 100TB.

It cost quite a lot but you'll have a great machine.
