Notify Scripts for Linux client backups?

Hello all,

So I have a Linux admin who wants to know when his boxes are finished backing up. He doesn't have access to the master server. What I would like to know is this: Is there an output file or script that can be triggered when a backup has successfully completed?

The bpend_notify.bat script would be ideal for this. Now, in the documents that I've read specify UNIX and Windows systems for this type of script, but not Linux. So does anyone know if this will work with Linux or not? Also, the notification, where does this notification generate? Do they generate on the client, the master server?

Alex,

Use blat to send mail notifications from you NT box, you can use your notification script with blat.

Yes there is a way to do it from the Linux server by the way Linux is a form of unix.

But you should keep this type of notification on your master, one plase one person managment.
