Hello Team.

Archive backups completed without generating child stream or 0 KB or some time failing with error code 6.

OS is Linux

NBU Version is 7.1

Kindly help to solve this issue..

Get your Oracle dba to troubleshoot.

Here is the problem:

RMAN-03002: failure of crosscheck command at 04/02/2013 06:39:59
RMAN-06004: ORACLE error from recovery catalog database: ORA-01001: invalid cursor

If you paste the last line into Google, you will find quite a number of possible solutions.

Nothing wrong with NBU....

You need to check the rman script as well as the output produced by script.

You'll also want to turn on the rman script debugging on the client by creating two directories under /usr/openv/netbackup/logs - can't remember the names, but you'll find them in the NetBackup for Oracle admin guide under Debugging.

Enabling the NetBackup for Oracle logs manually (UNIX/Linux)

1 Create the following directories on the client:

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bpbackup

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bpbkar

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bpdbsbora

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bpubsora

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bphdb

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bporaexp

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bporaimp

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bprestore

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/tar

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/dbclient

chmod 777 /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/dbclient

For example:

cd /usr/openv/netbackup/logs

mkdir bphdb

dbclient and bphdb are usually the most helpful of the bunch

Please start from posting backup script and its log.
OS and version seems different from those you wrote in opening post. OS is Solaris 8, and NetBackup is 6.0.
BTW, did you make any change before this backup start failing?

I agree with Marianne. It seems like you have a trouble with recovery catalog and recovery catalog DB retured ORA-01001. It is task of DBA.
