Reducing 96TB MSDP

Jesus_Fuente

Hi. I have a backup server with 96TB MSDP storage mounted in /msdp with 1TB volume for catalog, and three 32TB volumes mounted in /msdp/vol0, vol1 and vol2, with "data" directories created under them and with present file /etc/nbapp-release

Now this server has enough space available to shrink it to an 64TB MSDP.

Is it possible to remove the last 32TB partition in /msdp/vol2? How?

Thanks.

Hi @Jesus_Fuente

There's no publicly available procedure to do this, but it can be done.

I would suggest you log a support call and request assistance as there are many ways to lose your backup data. If you do log a call, reference ETrack 3983703 - that should give the support person guidance on what needs to be done (the particular Etrack is in relation to NetBackup appliances, but the basic process and steps are the same for BYO).

Cheers
David
