Robot out of available media

I am having an issue, and I think the answer is much easier than I can find.

I have media assigned through a policy to a particular volume pool.  We are out of media and do not have any extras to add to our robot for tonights backups.  I am trying to take media from another volume pool, expire it (or whatever the term is in order to make it scratch or available media again) and move it to the scratch pool in so that tonights backup has media to write to.

I have tried bpexpmedia command told it to expire in 1 second. The command ran fine but it still sits in the wrong volume pool and will not move to the scratch pool. Error 91.

I am sure there is an easy process in order to force media to become scratch before its retention ends. (Like changing the retention on an existing piece of media), but I can not figure it out.

Can anyone please lend me some assistance.

Thanks VERY much.

Find the tape you want to expire and run
bpexpdate -ev your_tape_number_goes_here  -d 0

bpexpdate -ev 000894 -d 0
