SAN MEDIA Server in a virtual guest machine

Hello guys.  I have a customer that wants to make backup of a virtual server thru the SAN.  It is possible and ceritified to installa a SAN Media Server in a virtual guest machine to make backups to a library over the SAN?

Only disk storage unit is supported with VM's.
