SET SNAP_ID

Set up new Media Server W2K8 R2 server and now see new message in the Job Overview tab when running my snapshots.

SET SNAP_ID=<name of media server>_<10 digit number>

Followed by the directory where the snap is presented to the media server to backup

C:\Backups\...............

Have other 32 bit media servers performing similar jobs.

This SET SNAP_ID message is new and wondering if it's some unique new identifier associated with VSS writer?

Jobs are completing successfully just curious about origins of this new message.

I found a clear explanation for SNAP_ID in tech note. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH64872 > When collecting data from NBU 6.5.2 where snapshot technology is utilized along with multiple data streams, > we can see an extra entry in the NBU file list (column 4 in the above table). I suppose that snapshot here include VSS snapshot used by WOFB. # I have never pay attention for and look into this entry in file list, so I'm not sure. Just suppose.
