SQL Log restore problems

When doing a SQL restore do you remove the original database and logs when doing the restore.

If you have corupt logs can you restore over them or will it corupt the good information being restored?

Hi Alasdair,

I try to answer with my limited knowledge on SQL.

For small database, I normally restore on alternate instance by generating the restore script from NB GUI and modifying the path before running the script.

Don't exactly understand your question but if you're referring to restoring a log that was backed up sometime ago onto the current corrupted one, its not going to work (with the current state of database).
