if STAGING_JOB_KB_LIMT is set to a value lower than the size of the backup image, will the job fail?

destaging on a new backup job (around 300GB of data) fails with error 191..

Hi,

I would most certainly say yes... once i had a lot of back up fails with that error code, it was because most of my tapes were full and the server didn't move the images out of the staging zone, when teh staging zone was full and it tries to back up another server, it failed because there was no space to allocate the images.

If you limit the staging zone is the same as having a little HD for the staging, when the server detects that there is no space to move the image it will stop backing up and return that error.

this was during the destaging process, looks like a read error from the disk (MSA based SATA array), im wondering if virus-scanning is causing the bptm or bpdm process to terminate

create the debug folder for bpdm. You may also need to increase verbosity for bpdm.
