Hi
I realise this isn't really a NetBackup question so forgive me for that, but I thought someone on this forum may have a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer to my question.
' Are the tapes used in StorageTek 10000b drives complete different from those used in LTO6 drives'? As in if I took a T10Kb tape could the LTO6 drive mount it and read the data?
I'm 99.9% certain I can't but not having ever seen a T10KB tape drive or media I wasn't 100% certain.
thanks in advance for anyone who may have seen both pieces of hardware :o)
kind regards
Keir

T10000B is not compatibe with LTO(Ultrium). T10000B can not mount Ultrium tapes, and Ultrium drives can not mount T10000x tapes.

I would not even try....
They don't look remotely similar:

As both Marianne and Yasuhisha already have said - the two formats are not compatible. However Oracle Storagetek robots can house both type of media and tape drives very well. There is nothing that prevent you to mix and match :)
