Setup a non-clustered DR Master version 7.5.0.3 on Redhat 6

Hi,

I am looking for a step by step guide to setup a DR master in a non clustered environment to a Remote site for an existing Master running 7.5.0.3 on Redhat Linux 6. I did find some documentation on how to setup a non-clustered DR master but it discusses only the general guide lines but do not go into details especially for an existing Master. Your help will be really appreciated.

The requirements in short are as follows:

1. OS must match (Linux/Unix master can be restored to any other Unix/Linux OS).
2. Hostname must be the same.
3. Installation path must match production master exactly.
4. NBU version and patch level must match exactly.
5. DR-file must be available to start catalog recovery.

I was looking for steps after building the DR master. What changes need to be done on the current master? I read in  "Installing, configuring and operating a non-clustered master server with catalog replication"  guide. (link below) but it suggest to engage symantec for setting up a DR Master for an exixting. I wanted to have and idea of what is needed before I started working on the implementation.

By the looks of it, you want to set up Catalog replication?

As per above TN, you need to use the 7.5 NetBackup in Highly Available Environments Administrator's Guide  http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5183

The steps to be performed on the source server is covered in above manual.

You will find steps on how to move all NBU db's to the catalog volume that will be replicated.
