Hello, in order to understand how Netbackup take advantage of SAN's snapshot technology, I have been looking at the documentation of Veritas NetBackupTM Snapshot Client Configuration at http://support.veritas.com/docs/288300, but with limited understanding only.
I am seeking for some clarification here of my understood about how the Netbackup snapshot works:
1) create the fabric zone, add the media server, tape device and SAN LUNs into the same zone.
2) configure the 3pc.conf and mover.conf in media server to recognized these the LUNs.
3) create the backup snapshot type policy to backup these LUNs inot media.
Is this the correct procedure at very high level? but how/where the vendor's SAN snapshot technology come into use?
