Solaris OS + Veritas Volume Manager restore and recovery

Hi:

We just moved to Sun Soalris OS with Veritas Volume Manager running. How do we perform a bare metal recovery using ufsdump and restore. We are not using Veritas NetBackup. We have a local tape unit to write the OS dump to. DO I need to buy any additional tools to do this? Can Veritas Bare Metal recovery tool be used with out Veritas netBackup?

Hellow,
There are no need of BMR in recovering boot disk from tapes.
What you need is described in Troubleshooting Guide. Check the section like "Recovering a Root Disk and Root Mirror from Backup Tape".
