Hi,
We have linux environment, Master /Media and all the client are running with Redhat 2.6.
We have installed NBU 6.5.4 on all the systems and backup is working fine. Recently we have installed VMware and created linuxVM's.
On six linux system's nbu 6.5.4 client is installed and backup is working fine, but only One system we are getting Status 46 :Server not allowed access" and due to this we are not able backup for this client.
We are able to ping and resolve the systems from client to server and vice versa.
./bpclntcmd -server per-bkp-01
host per-bkp-01: per-bkp-01 at 10.10.2.31 (0x1f020a0a)

Please create bpcd log directory on the client.
Try another backup and use bpcd log to troubleshoot:
You will see the server's incoming connection request represented by the server's IP address.
The client now needs to resolve the IP address to a hostname. This hostname is then compared with SERVER entries in the client's bp.conf. If the hostname does not match a valid server entry, the connection request will be rejected.
Update /etc/hosts and/or SERVER entries based on findings in bpcd client.

to tell it what server was the master server ?
Can you confirm that the Master Server is the first entry in the clients bp.conf file? (~/openv/netbackup/bp.conf SERVER = <master_server> )

It mostly ends up to be a host-name resoluton issue..
Make sure that DNS entries (if there) are correctly configured or there are no stray entries that might confuse the server while connecting to the desired one..

Does your bp.conf entries in client contains master server followed by the media server namesIt mostly happens in my environment wherein people forget to give media server entries and complain..

Hi All,
Thanks for the support, we have found the solution. The host entry in bp.conf was invalid.

Could you be a bit more specific? Was it jut a typo or something else?

which i have already quoted.
On UNIX and Macintosh clients, add a SERVER entry in the bp.conf file.
