Hi,

I need to upgrade the Netbackup 7.0.1 to Netbackup 7.6.0.2 to my Linux DB server, do anyone has step by step guide on how to upgrade the Linux server? I find it very general in Netbackup admin guide.

Server:

[root@myxxx01 etc]# uname -a
Linux myxxx01 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 18 15:51:48 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga)

Thanks and regards,

Kwan

You will find a Readme on FileConnect where you downloaded the installation files. This Readme will tell you which OS'es are for which install file.

If memory serves me right, Clients1 is for Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, and Clients2 for all Linux'es.

**** EDIT ****

I have just checked the Readme file:

----------------------------------

NetBackup Unix Clients 1
AIX, FreeBSD, HP paRisc & IA64, Mac, Solaris Sparc & X86
 NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS1.tar.gz
 [ MD5: c6dfaf03f5847ecd39598f14118563bf  ]

 ----------------------------------

NetBackup Unix Clients 2
  Linuxes
 NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS2.tar.gz
 [ MD5: 58d6bc9ee2b43ab44991431eebaf35f1 ]

Hi,

What is the difference between NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS1.tar.gz and NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS2.tar.gz. Do I need to install both?

Kwan
