Hopefully you are not trying to restore System State to original location?

This should only be done as part of a Full system restore where ALL steps in this TN are carefully followed:

HOWTO: Use NetBackup to perform a restore for a total and complete recovery of Windows client(s)...
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH56473

You can restore System State to alternate location:

How To Restore a Windows System State to an alternate location
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO36039

**** I am moving this discussion to the NetBackup forum as it is not directly related to Appliances ****

Supported way to recover a crashed server without BMR is documented in TECH56473.

I have seen successful system restore when this TN is followed carefully.

Hi,

Today I have performed the below steps.

1. Recover the server from the system recovery option -> system image recovery (last backup date is 27 Jan, 2014)

2. When i run its AD (pop-up message like this the domain can't be found) i.e.  Also verify the cmd netdom query fsmo "role not exist" etc.

3. Install the netbackup agent.

4. Run msconfig.exe tool. On the Boot tab, select Safe Boot, and then click Active Directory repair.

5. Auto restart system comes into safe mode.

6. Restore the "system state" backup.

7. Restart the server after power up it asking agin about the system recovery option.

after the i insert the windows media into a cdrom, boot it from cdrom and select language, select repair your computer, In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt and run the below commands

bootrec /fixmbr    (Fixes MBR)

bootrec /fixboot   (Fixes Boot Sector)

bootrec /scanos    (Scans for Windows installations to add)

Type exit and reboot the system. But again system power on with the system recovery option tool.

i am struck here from couple of days. Kindly guide me how i resolve this issue.
