Is it possible to restore or import on Symantec Net Backup 7.6(site B) using the backup file from Symantec Net Backup 7.1(site A) on different site, which is site A and site B are not in cluster, we try to restore with tape cartridge, we bring from site A to site B ?

If possible, kindly please inform to me the step by step for this purpose.

thanks for your advice

We have for some reason missed this post.

It is by all means possible to import backup tapes from a previous version (site A to site B).

To import tapes from another environment is a 2 step process:

Phase 1 import (Initiate Import) will scan the tape to create header/image info.

Phase 2 import (Import) will scan chosen images from phase 1 output to build the file list. This is a lengthy process that will take about as long as the backup took.

Important to complete phase 1 for all tapes before phase 2 is started.
Also bear in mind that phase 1 imports have a default expiration date of 1 week.
