Synthetic backup error 1

Dear all,

I have configured synthetic backup to my environment, iam able to take full synthetic backup by using baseline backup for client
When i am running incremental its giving me error 1 partial complition and showing error in policy details as

Error Dbimage query :: get next record pid unable to receive the response to the image query, error= no entity was found
Erro Synthjob::findimage cauth synth EXCEPTION error= no entity was found (227)
Erro Synthjob::doStart preparation for generating synthetic image failed, error = no image found to synthesize (607)

Ensure that a synthetic full backup has one full image (real or synthetic) and one or more subsequent incremental images (differential or cumulative) to synthesize. For a cumulative synthetic backup, there must be two or more incremental (differential or cumulative) images to synthesize. Adjust your schedules so the appropriate backup jobs complete successfully before the synthetic job is run. The scheduler does not retry a synthetic backup job that fails with this error code.
..."

So that then beggars the question "What type of incremental were you trying to run?" if cumulative then, as the above intimates, you cannot run a cumulative as "there must be two or more incremental (differential or cumulative) images to synthesize"

From the admin manual: "Incremental backups are necessary to capture the changes in the file system since the last full or incremental backup. The synthetic backup job receives a status code of 1 for a policy that contains full or incremental synthetic backup schedules, but no incremental backup schedules."

Dear Andy,

I have taken one full backup that is base line backup and 2 incremental backups(normal),after that when i try to run synthetic full back now its stuck up at 20 %.
Its not at all going ahead,when i canceled this job and start new manual full synthetic backup it still get stuck at 20 %
What i am doing wrong.?

Is it waiting for resources (tapes/drives)?

Anything in the logs?
Admin Guide:

If problems occur with synthetic backups, the following debug logs are required to diagnose the problem:
■ On the master server: bpsynth, bpdbm, and the log files located in /usr/openv/logs as described in the NetBackup Troubleshooting Guide.
■ On the media server(s): bptm (if any tape images), bpdm (if any disk images), bpcd
..."

Unfortunately I never got to fully test synthetic backups as colleagues 'trashed' the client I was using whilst I was on leave! Therefore I can't comment directly on the niceties of running synthetic backups in the 'real-world'!

I hope there are people who are using syhthetic backups in there environment and running sucessfully.

I have checked all drives are empty my synthetic backup job is alwayes showing as active and its stuck at 20% othere backups are working fine.
Is synthetic backup require full backup tape(baseline) inside robot.?Does synthetic backup need differnt volume pool only for Synthetic backup?

What about the others? (bpsynth, bptm)

Can't guarantee I'll be able to help further (afterall, you've got further than me as my synthetics were cut down in their prime before I even got to try them!), but I'll certainly try to if I can.
