Depends on what your requirements are. We have no long-term retention requirements, so I just duplicate a set of full backups to an alternate media pool once/week and send those tapes off-site. This has the side effects of keeping my original backups on-site in case I need to do a quick restore, and serves as a read-check of those backups.

My headache is how to mark the tape who sill be sent off-site
It is just to move tapes to standalone drive?
First two drives was moved in this way, after that robot failed and was changed, first move afer replace failed. Is there a relationship between this two issues?
