Throughput drastically reduced

We have been getting very good throughput on a backup of this one server. Recently, the thoughput has been reduced to a crawl. We need to find out why as it's in the TB range and is taking forever. are there any suggestions as to  where I can look. Everything is running Windows and we are running 6.5.2A.

What has changed?
While no one will admit they changed anything, 95% of the time, someone changed something they thought wouldn't impact anything...

networking config?
new router/switch misconfigured? half-duplex is NOT your friend...

If via TAN/SAN so fiber not network, check the switches there.

Is it the source disks?

If Oracle - the “check logical” parameter will cause 10X difference in speed.

To add to the above, dont forget AV scanning and it scanning backup files, and or the running backup processes, or backup installation folder locations...

fragmented disks.

Not using multistreaming.

Not tuning network buffers

Beyond the above, see the policy attributes tab, is "Compression" checked? If so, remove the checkmark, and see if that helps?
