Which Domain is Tier 1 and which one is Tier2 and which can be consider as Tier 3.
What is know is Tier1 is with minimum Master, Tier 2 is more than 1 master server and Tier 3 is a huge Domain containing large number of Master server.
Please correct me if this is not right...

NetBackup Enterprise Server software is 3-tier with a master server that can have multiple media servers to backup network clients.
Master: Tier 1
Media Server(s): Tier 2
Client(s): Tier 3

As Marianne says Tier 1 is the Master - Tier 2 is Media - Tier 3 is the client - but do bear in mind that any higer tire item can also be a lower tier item...
So a Master could also be a Media Server and if it backs itself up it is also a client - in that case the Master would act as Tiers 1, 2 and 3 - so it is all about how the system is actually used
A second (or More) Master(s) would be a different NetBackup Domain which would have its own Tiers - there will never be more than one Master in a NetBackup Domain
And dont confuse this with licensing where licenses also have Tier references as there usually refer to the number of physical CPUs installed in a server.
Hope this helps clarify things

Thanks All, how can we differenciate it if will talk in terms of CPU number.
Is it only concerned with the CPU installed on the Master Server itself only ? Or does it depends on the CPU on Master/Media server ?

All Server licenses are Tier based (per cpu) - Master, Media (Enterprise Server) as well as San Media server or ESX / Hyper-V server (Enterprise Client).
Application and Database Agent licenses are also tier based.
You need to check licensing and pricing with your local reseller.

That clearly doesn't help you much
To get your exact license entitlement contact your Symantec reseller / partner (or Symantec direclty) and ask for an IBR (Install Base Report)
Only this will tell you exactly what licenses you have and whether they are in support / maintenance or not
Hope this helps

Please verify bpminlicense.exe -verbose command
verify Product ID and Server Tier it should be Netbackup Enterpsise Server and nt Netbackup server

As per Mark's post, tier information is not reported by bpminlicense command.
This information as well as quantities can be found on your license key certificates or in the IBR.
