Unable to find media used for backup

Hi All

Master : Windows2003
NBU : 7.5.0.4

I take a backup of client "clientserver.bkp.com" with retention period of 7 days on 01-Jan-2014.
After 7 days the images got expired on 08-Jan-2014 for this client.
I get an restore request today on 31-Jan-2014.

But I am not able to find the media used for backup, as backup images expired and not visible in B&R window.

Please suggest/help me, how can I find the media id so I can get the images import and get the restore done.

Do you run Opscenter? The information may be retained there. Or perhaps you know the set of media written on that backup date...but that could be a lot of work. Hopefully there are better suggestions coming through...

NBU only keeps logs for 28 days.

This means that 'All log Entries' report will n longer have any records for jobs that ran on 1 January.

Chances are also good that tapes have been overwritten in the meantime.

Question: Who decided that backup should only have 7 days retention period?
If retention periods are company policy and documented as such, you are under no obligation to fulfill this restore request.

Mmmm.... Great find, sri vani.
Same user, same question, just different user name (Netbackup_user)...

Did you understand what I was trying to say to you 6 months ago about retention levels, SLA's and 'days to keep logs'?

Thanks Sri / Marianne,

I did search for that Post, but was not able to search it. Due to which I posted the same query again, thanks for finding the same.

Yes, Marianne.....it was cleared, but I was missing few things, which I got after getting the other post.
