Hello,
I'm currently harding are servers. We just built a Solaris 10 (x86) server and installed NetBackup 7.1 with OpsCenter. I was wondering if I could upgrade the webserver NetBackup installed without breaking anything? Does NetBackup have a patch or update I could use to install on the system with?
OS:
Solaris 10 x86
Webservers:
/opt/SYMCOpsCenterGUI/webserver/bin/version.sh -- file says it's Apache Tomcat/6.0.29
/usr/apache/bin/httpd -- I think this one, might have been installed with the OS. Apache/1.3.41
Any help woould be great.

If you are looking to upgrade just the webserver portion independant of the OpsCenter product, the answer would be "not if you want to still be supported".
When you upgrade OpsCenter to a new version all the underlying components get updated as well to supported and tested versions. I had this issue in the past with Puredisk's web interface since it was so old it had over 50 security vulnerabilities that needed to patched for internal compliance.

I was asked this a while ago, I checked with backline, and was told that :
a) It would probably break OpsCenter
b) It's unsupported (as mentioned)

Thank you for replying to my question. I think OpsCenter is free, right? So can upgrade to the newer version without any trouble, right? How do I get the update? I'm looking but I don't see it.
I see this also fixes Java on OpsCeter as well, that's great. Is there a place with all the new patches or updates?

On https://fileconnect.symantec.com it asks for my Serial Number:
I don't know my Serial Number: how do I find it.

The License Certificate is your legal proof of purchase document that you receive after ordering new products and services from Symantec. The License Certificate typically includes both a Product License page and a Maintenance Entitlement page, each identifying the new item(s) purchased and unique Serial Number identifiers for each item, which are required for License Key activation.
that said, not available for general distribution yet, only the via beta program at this time
see the * edit * update in my post above

Ok thanks, I don't have the paperwork handy. Is there a command or a place in the GUI where I can get the serial number.
I will try to get the bata program from the link you provided.
Thanks
