Check "Configuring a backup policy for database supporting files" on NetBackup 7.1 for Lotus Notes System Adminsitrator's Guide page 46. Domino binary files and configuration files must be backed up by Standard(UNIX/Linux) or MS-Windows(Windows) policy.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3668

LOTUS_INSTALL_PATH is used to tell NetBackup for Lotus Notes agent where lotus binary files resides. On UNIX client, the agent need it to work in conjunction with lotus domino - it is not to let the agent backup up lotus binary files. You need to configure file backup with Standard or MS-Windows policy.

Personally do not use this agent, but a very quick look in the appropriate Admin Guide seems very self explanatory (only two hits for the string "LOTUS_INSTALL_PATH" but seems enough):

This directive identifies the location of Lotus program files that are
associated with a particular installation of Domino server.
(UNIX or Linux) To configure a backup for one of the multiple installations
of Domino server, indicate the absolute path where the Lotus program
files are installed.

& under an explanation of the NEW_STREAM directive:

(UNIX or Linux) To schedule a backup of multiple installations of Domino
server on the same host, backup each Domino server with a separate data
stream. Use the NEW_STREAM directive and the NOTES_INI_PATH and
LOTUS_INSTALL_PATH directives for each data stream.
