What is difference between Netbackup 6.5 to 7.5 in Architecture Level?(Not features)

Hi to all,

What exactly Changes done in Netbackup 7.5 in architecture level when compare with Netbackup 6.5? Some one said ,Basic architecture is same for Netbackup 6.5 and 7.5 But in Netbackup 7.5 Image database resides in NBDB, Is it correct?Can any one Plase give exact difference between in Netbackup 6.5 and 7.5?( Not features)

Yes is correct NBU 7.5 during the upgrade process merges the images headers that reside in files in 6.x in to NBDB, this is why NBU OS tuning changed and demands more memory and CPU at all levels. Out of this mainly are features.

Another change that was introduced in NBU 7.x is media server and client dedupe binaries that are included in standard installation. See http://eval.symantec.com/mktginfo/enterprise/other_resources/b-netbackup_7_faq.pdf

Another 7.x change is that Unix/Linux client software now includes all agents and options.

As from NBU 7.0.1, server to client comms uses PBX port 1556.

If you really need to know all architectural changes, you will have to go through all Release Notes.
