Will NBU 5.x support IBM VTL TS7520?

We understand that TS7520 is supported by NBU 6.x . For us would be a costly migration to go from 5.0 to 6.0. We saw that Device Mappings for TS7520 is available for NBU 5.x, but no support announced. Is that on plan?

I would say that if the device in question is in the mappings for your version and O/S type, then it should work.  The mappings file is the entitiy that offers support for different units.

I understand that too, but in the Dev. Mappings Document it is written:

The presence of a device in the file device_mappings.txt does not indicate, expressed or implied, support of the device on the target NetBackup platform. Refer to the NetBackup Hardware Compatibility List, found below in the Related Documents section, for such support statements. 
The TS7520 is not listed in the HCL for NBU 5.x....
