altnames folder

Hi Marianne how do i do this the server has no altnames folder and how do i create the file u spoke of

You simply use OS tools to create the folder :
Windows: In Windows Explorer, navigate to ..... Veritas\NetBackup\db\.  In the folder, right-click, New -> Folder -> type altnames. 
Unix/Linux : navigate to /usr/openv/netbackup/db/  .  Command: mkdir altnames

Then use OS command/tool to create empty file. 
Ask your OS admin for assistance if you are unsure.
