recently i have a netbackup client backup status end with 1. does this folder required on C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\var\host_cache\* for backup ?

I have verified that the files on those sub folders are existed. Will a bpclntcmd -clear_host_cache resolved this issue or any other advise?

It is better to exclude host_cache folder because content of this folder is just cache, and there are no need to backup.

Your Windows error looks exactly like the Windows error reported in this earlier thread:

 https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/backup-partially-successful-microsoft-sql-server-file...

I'd follow the same advice offered there (ask the hardware admins to check the disk first).

I have informed customer to get their hardware admin to run a chkdsk on those file or exclude from the backup selection .
