can NBU 6.5 read CA brighstor tapes?

Is it possible for NBU 6.0/6.5 import or read CA's Brightstor arcserve tapes r11.5 sp3? Looking to migrate off of that ......yeh, any thots appreciated :)

Here's our old "tricking you into clicking on our link only to find out it isn't possible" TechNote on the topic:

How to 'import' backups written by EDM, EMC Data Manager, Legato, Ominiback, ArcServe, or other backup products using the NetBackup application.

Now, having said that, I believe that Backup Exec IS able to read file data from ARCserve media - but I think they have to be really, really older versions (which means, no, not 11).  You might want to try asking on the BE forum.

What data formats are supported when restoring ArcServe media with Backup Exec?

And then again AGAIN, maybe "tar" would work on your media depending on how it was written (keeping in mind I am COMPLETELY ignorant of how it might be written using other folks' software).

Thx CRZ that's what I thot! :( now I gotta keep an old dinasour around. These guys engineer their apps to make it hard or what!
