.dbf files restored with 0KB

Hi

We have a couple of databases that are not in use anymore (we keep them for archiving).   I backed up the database server and the backup went through without errors.

I tried to restore the Oracle datafiles and they were all restored with 0KB.  I assumed they were skipped because they were open but it seems that these databases are not used anymore so I don't know why they would be open.   I also tried to restore log files and flat files and the restore was successful.

Does anyone have an idea why the *.dbf files are restored with 0KB?

Here are some more info:

Master: NetBackup 6.5.4 running on Windows 2008 SP2 (64 bits)

Oracle machine: Windows XP SP3.  Agent: NetBackup 6.5.4.  Oracle 8i (I know, old stuff...)

No exclusions on .dbf files for that client.

Thanks in advance

What file size is shown in BAR GUI?

If non-zero, you should be able to trace restore process in the following logs:

bptm on media server will tell you how much data was read and sent to client.

tar on client will tell you how much data was received and what happened on client.
