for help-speed very slowly in NBU Netbackup5.1

hello,everyone:
       recently,there is a backup policy whose speed is very slowly. the network is normal between master server and target host. the log of backup policy is normal,only the speed slowly.
       I have installed NBU Client three times for the targe host,but it is usefullness.
can you give some suggest?

If it's windows, try checking the duplex settings on the nic of the client. If it's set to "Auto Negtiate" try forcing it to the speed of your network... Be aware, that changing this with cause the network to drop temporarily..
 
If you don't get much joy with this, try speaking with symantec support and get hold of the Apparanet sequencer and run a network analysis between master to client then vise versa. It's a really useful tool. Picks up all kinds of network related issues and is pretty good at pinpointing the problem without having to do too much work yourself.  Checks things like network speeds on switches, packet loss etc etc.

Try using Chesapeake TTCP to test the network throuput. It's a Java based freeware tool. Whenever I suspect network performence problems I test with ttcp.

You need to change the default values in order to archive a true picture.

I alwase set buffersize to 65536 and "Num Buffers" to 16384.
