Dear All,
Any command can be used to lengthen the expiry date on tape to "never expiry" or even longer in which the tape contains image.

You can use either.
I prefer the simpler way, especially when doing a large number of tapes.
There is a -force option whch does the command without prompting for a y/n answer.

are you talking about the expriation of a physical tape ( meaning the age of the physical tape that you want to stop using it).
or are you talking about the expriation date of a image on the tape.
these are two differnt things.

Dear all,
The situation is I forgot to select the retention period into "infinity" at the time when i duplicated my image on another tape. The duplicated copy at present is nearly to be expired and i just want to lengthen its expiry date to infinity so that i can use it for restoration at any time. Hope to find out the ultimate solution.

Then what is the difference between for the following ? Would it be the same result if I use it instead ?
